Job Description

The Master Cabinet Maker is responsible for the design, fabrication, assembly, and installation of high-quality custom cabinetry and millwork. This role requires advanced woodworking skills, expert knowledge of materials and finishes, and the ability to lead projects from concept through completion while maintaining the highest craftsmanship standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and install custom cabinets, furniture, and architectural millwork

• Interpret and work from detailed blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications

• Select appropriate materials, hardware, and finishes for each project

• Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools (table saws, CNC, routers, planers, sanders)

• Perform precise measuring, cutting, shaping, joining, and finishing of wood products

• Apply finishes including staining, sealing, and spraying to achieve premium results

• Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, durability, and quality standards

• Troubleshoot design or construction issues and implement effective solutions

• Lead and mentor apprentice or junior cabinet makers

• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workshop environment

• Coordinate with designers, contractors, and clients to meet project timelines

Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional cabinet making or fine woodworking experience

• Expert knowledge of wood types, veneers, laminates, and composite materials

• Strong understanding of joinery techniques and precision craftsmanship

• Proficiency with woodworking machinery and CNC equipment

• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications

• Advanced problem-solving and attention to detail

• Strong time management and leadership skills

• Knowledge of safety standards and best practices

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Prolonged standing, bending, and manual dexterity

• Comfortable working with power tools and machinery
