Job Description

Responsibilities

Develops methods and procedures for transportation of raw materials to processing and production areas and transportation of commodities from departments to customers, warehouses and other storage facilities.

Determines the most economical and efficient routing and mode of transportation for facility shipments.

Directs scheduling of shipments and notifies concerned departments or customers of arrival dates.

Initiates investigations into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance.

Conducts studies in areas of packaging, warehousing, and loading of commodities and evaluates existing procedures and standards.

Initiates changes designed to improve control and efficiency of traffic department.

Manages location cost center.

Assists in the preparation of department budgets.

Trains and mentors employees. Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience in traffic and logistics.
• Strong analytical, engineering, and financial background.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Education

Bachelors degree preferred. Qualifications
