Director of AI Implementation – Upper Midwest

We are looking for a Director of AI Implementation for a growing multi-location veterinary company.

The Director of AI Implementation is responsible for bridging the gap between AI strategy and execution, ensuring the successful, ethical, and value-driven deployment of AI solutions across the organization for providing strategic leadership, driving operational excellence, and insuring the company’s long-term success in the animal health veterinary sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy Execution: Translate the organization’s AI vision into actionable implementation plans and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measurable ROI.
• Project Management: Oversee the entire AI solution lifecycle, from ideation and proof-of-concept to development, testing, deployment, and optimization, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with business teams to ensure seamless integration of AI technologies with existing systems and processes.
• Governance and Ethics: Champion responsible, transparent AI practices, leading compliance committees to ensure all AI implementations adhere to regulatory, security, data privacy, and ethical standards

• Technology & Infrastructure: Collaborate with team leaders on the selection and implementation of AI platforms, tools, and infrastructure to support scalable and secure solutions.

• Change Management: Lead organizational change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of AI tools, working with HR to design training and upskilling programs for staff.

• Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics to monitor the effectiveness and impact of AI solutions, continuously iterating and optimizing based on data insights.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is often preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT leadership, project management, or data analytics, with at least 3-5 years managing AI/ML projects and experience in a senior leadership role.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies, cloud platforms, data pipelines, and MLOps best practices.
• Leadership: Proven track record of leading  technology transformations and driving cross-functional teams to deliver measurable business value.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
