Lead a High-Performance Dealership Team in the Heart of Chicago City Volkswagen of Chicago is seeking an experienced, high-performing Automotive General Manager to lead dealership operations, maximize profitability, drive customer satisfaction, and continue building one of the most respected automotive teams in the Chicago market. What We Offer: * Expected $225,000 – $275,000+ total annual earnings (Base Salary + Bonuses + Incentives) * Full Healthcare Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision) * Company Vehicle * 401(k) with Company Contribution * Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays * Ongoing Professional Training, Leadership Development, and OEM Certification * A highly regarded dealership with a strong customer base and significant growth potential Key Responsibilities: 1) Leadership & Culture * Lead, coach, and mentor Sales, F&I, Service, and Fixed Ops department leaders and teams * Cultivate a culture of accountability, performance excellence, customer service, and team development * Recruit, hire, and retain top automotive talent 2) Sales, Revenue & Profitability * Meet and exceed dealership sales volume, gross profit, net profit, and market share objectives * Drive new and used vehicle sales growth and inventory performance * Manage inventory acquisition, pricing strategies, merchandising, and lot performance * Optimize F&I product penetration, profitability, and compliance 3) Fixed Operations & Service Performance * Collaborate with the Service Director to improve service absorption, RO count, technician efficiency, and customer satisfaction scores * Ensure alignment with OEM brand standards across Service and Parts departments * Increase customer pay revenue, warranty retention, and service upsell performance 4) Operational Excellence & Compliance * Oversee dealership P&L management, forecasting, budgeting, expenses, and financial controls * Ensure compliance with OEM, state, federal, and environmental standards and regulations * Utilize CRM, DMS, and performance reporting platforms to enhance operations * Ensure operational excellence across sales processes, BDC performance, digital retailing, and customer experience Qualifications: * 5+ years of General Manager or General Sales Manager (GSM) experience in a franchised automotive dealership * Import brand experience preferred; Volkswagen brand experience strongly valued * Proven record of driving elevated sales volume, profitability, and CSI performance * Demonstrated success leading Sales, F&I, Service, and Fixed Ops teams * Strong financial acumen including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement * Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills * Experience managing digital retailing, customer experience, and modern automotive retail strategies Why Join City Volkswagen of Chicago? * Strong and growing presence in the Chicago market * Highly reputable dealership with strong community ties * Opportunity to drive culture, performance, and long-term strategic growth * Fast growing group with major employee growth opportunity About City Volkswagen of Chicago: At Volkswagen of Chicago, we believe purchasing and servicing a vehicle should be transparent, customer-focused, and enjoyable.
